The Role
Work Location: New York, New York, United States of America Hours: 40 Pay Details: $76,290 – $125,260 USD

Job Description: The Data Scientist II is responsible for collecting data and using a wide range of data science techniques, including but not limited to data wrangling, profiling and visualization, statistical inference, to uncover actionable insights or build analytics solutions that guide decision making and strategic planning.
Department Overview: We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist in our Financial Crime Risk Modeling & Advanced Analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for financial crime risk model development and monitoring.

About You
Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science). Graduate degree preferred with either progressive project work experience, or 3+ years of relevant experience; higher degree education and research tenure can be counted.
Preferred Skills: Hands-on experience in modeling especially in tree-based algorithms and advanced data analytics. Strong coding skills in Python and SQL. Knowledge of the AML domain is a plus. Experience delivering production-grade models in a cloud environment. Experience in neural network architecture and Transaction Monitoring. Graduate degree candidates with ~1+ years' experience will be considered for this role.

Things You Might Do
- Work autonomously within a specialized business management function and may provide work direction to others
- Provide seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members
- Undertake and complete a variety of complex projects and initiatives requiring specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes
- Oversee and/or independently perform tasks from end-to-end
- Translate business problems to viable data science solutions within the financial crime risk modeling context
- Use Python and advanced analytics techniques for extracting and preparing data and applying statistics
- Visualize insights from data to clearly convey results to decision-makers at every level of technical understanding
- Collaborate with data/business analysts, software engineers, and data engineers to develop scalable data science solutions
- Develop and monitor financial crime risk models
- Educate the organization on approaches such as testing hypotheses and statistical validation of results
- Participate in cross-functional/enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert
- Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners/stakeholders
